Energy Standards Change

Posted by Doug Breier on

Effective April 2015, the residential water heater market will change as a result of the new NAECA act. All gas water heaters under 55 gallons will get larger due to additional insulation. Gas water heaters over 55 gallons and under 75,000 BTU input will be required to be condensing. Therefore, certain models will be eliminated. Electric water heaters under 55 gallons will also experience increases in dimensions. Electric water heaters over 55 gallons will be eliminated under the new NAECA standard. Customers requiring electric water heaters with more than 55 gallons will be required to use a heat pump style water heater. For further details, please send us an email or call.
